Students can choose from the Assurance, Business Data Analytics or Tax concentrations to further customize the program. Any of these concentrations require nine credit hours to fulfill and all courses must be passed with a C- grade or higher (C grade or higher for Business Data Analytics). There is an opportunity to complete and sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination within the program.
Admission requirements include holding a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a 2.75 cumulative GPA. Submission needs for the accounting program include a resume, statement of purpose, one letter of recommendation, and Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores.
Test scores are waived for those with a 3.2 GPA and recommendation letters are not needed for those that pursued an undergraduate degree at West Virginia University. Application takes place in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Graduate assistantships are available to waive tuition and receive stipends for 10 to 20 hours of work each week in addition to academic studies.
