Online Master of Accounting Programs in Vermont
Champlain College
Based in Burlington, this online MBA is 100 percent available in a virtual setting and requires at least 36 credit hours to complete. Concentration options include Advanced Management, Information Security, and Supply Chain Management. This program is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
The MBA prepares students for a variety of positions in business management, including accountants, auditors, and consultants. They will gain experience in evaluating business risk and analyzing trends to determine the best decisions to make toward future transactions. In additional to advanced accounting skills, students gain the communication needs for working with teams and presenting information to other parts of the organization.
Course schedule is set up in two eight-week modules in each semester, which are separated into the fall, spring, and summer seasons. Students are administered into the program by the end of August, and applications must be received by July 31st. Graduates from the program have gone onto positions at the big four accounting firms (Deloitte), Northrop Grumman, Fidelity Investments, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Up to 30 credit hours are needed for the core curriculum in addition to 12 specialization credit hours. Six additional credit hours may be needed to meet prerequisite requirements, and the Survey of Accounting for Managers and Managing Risk in Organizations courses will be waived if met. Examples of other courses that may be taken include Financial Decision Making for Management, Health Care Information Systems, and Managing Risk in IT Organizations.
