Providence College - Master of Business Administration
Students can pursue the MBA at at Providence College with a unique Accounting Cohort format for those looking to advance their career in the field. Up to six transfer credits can be utilized if needed, and work experience is generally required for admission. In some cases during the application process, prospective students will be contacted for an interview.
The MBA curriculum is divided up into 12 different courses. Nine courses will be part of the core curriculum and all students will be taking these, and three courses are reserved for elective options. Examples of courses in the core curriculum include Accounting Ethics, Strategic Management in a Global Business, and Statistics and Modelling Analytics.
The Accounting Cohort format gives an ability for students to complete the MBA in 13 or 14 months with admission and graduation in the summer months. This particular path can also be taken in a part-time or full-time format, or combined with the 4+1 flexible pathway that adds the undergraduate program. Accounting and Decision Making in Organizations is waived for a third elective.
During the application process, prospective students will need to submit Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores. This can be waived if they obtained a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Required foundational topics include micro and macroeconomics, statistical analysis, and financial and managerial accounting.

Online Master of Accounting Programs in Rhode Island
Bryant University – Master of Professional Accountancy
The School of Business offers a Master of Professional Accountancy with the ability to add a Tax concentration. This program gives students the ability to sit for the CPA exam by meeting necessary academic requirements. Courses can be pursued on-campus or in an online format.
Students with an accounting background need as little as two terms to complete the degree, which is in a span of eight months. The program is geared toward full-time students to accomplish this, and admission times take place in January, May, and September. In total, the curriculum will have 10 courses.
For the Tax concentration, students have the option to complete the program in consecutive summer and fall semesters, or in two summer semesters. Examples of courses students may take in the program is Accounting Theory, Sales and Exchanges of Property, and Partnership Income Tax Problems. There should be prerequisites met in intermediate accounting topics, taxation, cost management, and auditing.
