Dartmouth University - Master of Business Administration
The Tuck School of Business offers an MBA that can be taken at the Hanover campus over a two-year span. This is a 76.5 course credit hour program that provides enough accounting education to prepare students for the CPA exam. Students must be enrolled on a full-time basis for this program and there is no online opportunity.
Most of the core courses are completed in the first year with electives in the second year. Accounting courses that students can choose from include Advanced Managerial Accounting, Taxes and Business Strategy, and Financial Statement Interpretation and Analysis. Other topics that can be explored are ethics and social responsibility, finance, and management operations.
At least one course must be taken through TuckGO, a benefit that allows students to study abroad. One of the terms can be taken in a different country at one of the school affiliates to gain a different perspective of international business. In 2019, students enrolled in the program went to 33 different countries, including Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Prospective students do not need to have a business background to get into the program and have the ability to take prerequisites at the college that would not count toward the credit hour requirements. In addition to having prerequisites in microeconomics, finance, and statistics, students should be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs designates SNHU’s graduate-level accounting program, which is fully available online for student convenience. Students will fully understand how to analyze and present financial statements in their organization and reduce tax liabilities. 36 credit hours are needed to complete the program.
There are four concentrations to choose from: Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Management Accounting, and Taxation. Forensic Accounting includes courses that make students proficient in using software to detect fraudulent transactions in financial statements and preventing further issues in the future. Up to 12 hours can be used for transfer credit.
General courses in the program include topics in auditing methods, quantitative analysis, and financial regulations that businesses must adhere to. Overall, the program will prepare students to take the CPA exam and will meet the academic requirements of many state licensures. There are additional foundational courses that can be taken for those that do not have a background.
